The 40-Yard Dog Dash Rules by Ultimate Air Dogs:
Each dog gets 2 rounds consisting of 2 runs each - best score out of the 4 will be recorded.
The straight grass course is 40 yards.
Timer starts as soon as the dog breaks the starting line, and timer stops as soon as the dog breaks the finish line.
Please read the Titan Dog Games General Event Rules, as well as the following Protection specific rules:
Dogs showing dangerous behaviors will be disqualified for the safety of all.
Handler is required to maintain control of dog, on leash, at all times unless directed otherwise. Failure to control your dog will result in point loss or disqualification.
2 handlers per dog. One to hold the dog at the starting line ("holder"), and one to catch the dog at the finish line ("catcher"). The "catcher" should be the person that the dog responds to the best... most likely the dogs owner.
After loading the dog in the starting box, the "catcher" will signal to the judge that they are ready.
The "holder" must keep the dog behind the Starting Line. If a dog hits or crosses the starting line prior to the Judge being ready, it could result in disqualification.
On the judge’s Go, the "holder" will release the dog for the course.
Neither the "holder" or "catcher" may not run the course with the dog.
Neither the "holder" or "catcher" can not interfere in any way while the dog is running the course.
While on the course, the dog must stay within the course that has been laid out. Any dog that crashes the fencing or tries to short cut corners may be disqualified.
1 restart will be allowed.
At the finish of the course, the "catcher" at the finish line must get the dog on leash and get ready for the second run. The "holder" and "catcher" should switch places.
